Here's another one I recently sent to PCGS for grading. It's got some heavy clashing on the obverse, and misaligned dies on both side. I'd welcome your thoughts on the grade, and I'll post the PCGS result in a couple days.

I'll take a stab and guess AU-58.

Nice clashing Zurie. I think it a weak strike - uncirculated. 63ish.

Very little wear but no luster apparent in the images. I'll guess AU53.

My guess is that they called it AU-58 but I agree that the strike was weak and could have influenced their judgement. I'm not seeing any wear, just the weak strike. I also don't see much luster which leads me to think that they graded her 58. It may well actually be low MS. I have a coin just like this and it too is graded at 58 even though the strike is stronger and the same strong clashing.

Agree on the weak strike. My guess is MS63 based on that.

I also thought this had a weak strike rather than wear, probably caused by the misaligned dies. There actually is some luster in hand, which doesn't show well in the pics. I felt this was a low MS, but I was concerned that PCGS might drop it to a high AU. So I was pleased that they gave it an MS-62, which I think is accurate.

Just had a chance to look at it. First impression was 62-63 because of the clean, mark-free appearance but the dulled luster. Would have settled with 63. 62 is still a good grade.

I'd be happy with the grade if I submitted it. There must some luster there somewhere as you noted, because it sure doesn't show any in these pics.
