I remember seeing this 1945 Wheat penny when I first started collecting and thought nothing of it but nowI'm wondering... what you think?

I'm thinking Post-Mint Damage. If it was just missing WE TRUST without any of the other deformities I would maybe say Struck through errors?

I'd weigh it. Looks like a tapered planchet to me. Likely comes in around 2.85g.

Considering the scuff marks and uneven wavy surface it looks more like a damaged coin.

I'm thinking that it's a genuine Tapered Planchet, with unfortunate PMD as well. https://www.error-ref.com/tapered-planchets/
