Welcome everyone... I am a new member as of March 6th, 2025.

The question I have is simple, but, maybe not... that is the reason I am here today.

Years ago, I purchased a genuine, authentic, ANACS graded and slabbed 1955 Lincoln Cent DDO Die 1 with Laminations. I am currently 62-years-old, and had starting collecting Lincoln Wheat Cents since I was 6-years-old. In my 55+ years of collecting Lincoln Wheaties, I have NEVER SEEN, and NEVER HEARD of a significant/major "DOUBLE ERROR" 1955 DDO Die 1 with Laminations like the one that I have in my possession. Is this the "HOLY GRAIL" of the 1955 Lincoln DDO Die 1 Cents? Is this the ONLY ONE KNOWN TO EXIST? IF so, please let me know the best means to sell this coin, since I recently had a total left hip replacement on February 12th of this year. I am not familiar with auctions (other than ebay), or HOW to get the word out to those who may be interested in purchasing. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated. I did try my luck on ebay, but had no success, and simply ended the listing. I would think that someone MUST have an answer.

*** I JUST REALIZED THAT I HAVE A 'PROBLEM': I have tried to upload a few of the images here, but, no luck. ALL of the images can be seen on ebay, IF, I "RELIST" the auction.***

Hopefully, someone can help me to upload a few of these images here -- the image size is LESS THAN 300kb, BUT, the file extension is ".png", and is not an acceptable file extension name on this site. IDEAS?

>>> Food for thought... I could "RELIST" the item on ebay so you can ALL see the photos I had taken with my digital microscope camera and my Android camera... SHOULD I DO THAT? <<<

I JUST WANT TO BE SURE THAT THERE IS A LARGE ENOUGH INTEREST OF FOLKS ON THIS SITE THAT WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED IN THIS VERY UNUSUAL AND UNIQUE COIN.

PLEASE let me know your thoughts.

Thank you!

I agree with january1may input. The laminations likely detract from the value of the coin. I know personally that I would not be interested in paying top dollars for a 1955 DDO #1 with 'problems'.

Super coin to introduce yourself!

I would try https://www.greatcollections.com

Coins that sell for over $1000 have NO seller premiums!

Good luck and I hope you rehab that hip
Thanks for sharing!

Perhaps in this high of a grade, but it is impossible to know since not every coin has been slabbed.

Also, welcome to CCF, but I do have a small request. Your excitement and enthusiasm are awesome, but please don't use all caps as this is the internet equivalent of yelling. Thx!

I'm sad to say that laminations probably detract from value in sufficiently rare coins.

I have to readily agree with that statement!
I want to own a '55 DDO-001 badly. I would most likely have to buy one, and it would be very $$$ costly. I would not want a Lamination on that particular coin. I have many coins with laminations on them. I would rather have a lower grade coin than a Lam, on a dream coin.

Can you give us the link to the listing?
ALSO, YOU WERE ASKED TO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS IN YOUR PREVIOUS POST.

I apologize for using "upper case letters" in my post. I am still a 'newbie' to this site, and respect your feedback.

The currently listed ebay link is:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/335850917346

Please accept my apologies.

Thank you.

Agree that a lamination on this coin is a distraction and not desired. The high cost of a 1955 DDO #1 would require me to obtain a 'problem free' example.

Why do we have two ongoing threads for this same coin? I'll advise the Moderators to lock one or merge them.
