I've started down the deep, dark path of British numismatics. Nothing too serious yet. I'd love to know what dealers in the colonies specialize in that area, especially in Colorado.

Hi Prethen. Not sure I can help much as I'm in the UK but I imagine some dealers will have some modern British in their stock.

The major British auction houses and dealers do sometimes attend the main coin shows, if you are able to attend any. However you might find their stock a bit specialised at this stage.

Also, dealers like Davissons in MN have been dealing in British coins for years. Might be worth looking at their site. They have auctions and in my experience are very friendly and helpful.

How about a book? The Spink "Coins of England" has been the main reference for many collectors. It's now split into modern (decimal) and pre-decimal coins. It's recently been taken on by another publisher (Sovereign Rarities) but older volumes will give you an idea of the breadth of the coinage and may help you decide what interests you. Or of course, check out the threads here!

Have fun!
