I know very little about nickels and thought I would ask the experts about this one. First, can you give it a grade? It looks really good to me. Did this year's business strike have the nice square/flat rim or edge as this one does?..Do you think it will pass the 6 step test? Lastly..Are those darker streaks flow marks on poor alloy mix? Thanks for your time and consideration.

Looks pretty nice. It's in MS something, maybe MS-64? Not an expert on the subject, but it could be Full Steps. I think the streaks are from an Improper Alloy Mix issue.

That is a clear 6FS and IMHO a 65-65+...perhaps even a 66 (reverse rim at 9:00 may be only detraction).

looks like FS to me but I'm not an expert. Some might not like the hit on the "N" or the slight one on the last step, but that doesn't bother me.

Certainly 5FS, and a strong candidate for 6FS.

Keep in mind that the price difference between MS66 and MS66FS is maybe 2x for a 1944-D War Nickel. I know that NGC will differentiate 5FS from 6FS (unlike PCGS), but I don't know how that affects value. Good luck with your submission!

thats a wicked strike for a War Nickel. MS65 6FS very possible. TPG's are all over the board with the FS designation let alone a 6. its a crap shoot and I have no idea what the value would be if it came back 6FS. it might be worth a shot for slabbing but keep in mind the costs. PCGS has a $69 subscription rate plus $23 grading fee plus shipping and ins both ways so you need to be pretty certain not only its a 6 step but the value exceeds grading costs

consider a 65 FS goes for about $35
