So....this looks different and interesting to me, because of how wide the letters are.
Is this some sort of unusual Die Deterioration, or something more exciting?

I would also suggest that a Coin Wrapping Machine had a role in this flattening. You can see the parallel grooves in EPU. That would have probably hit the tops of USoA as well.
