Hey there all, just looking for some opinions on whether this one is worth cracking out and resubmitting. All opinions are welcomed and appreciated as always.

Would love to see this one in-hand. Given the photos posted, the obverse seems to show some evidence of cleaning.

@ijn1944 what should I look for once I have it in hand to determine if the hairlines are from a cleaning or something else?

Unimpossibe, do you see any of these "cleaning lines" crossing the devices, especially around "BUS?"

Remember that PCGS looked at this coin under 10X magnification. I don't think that a resubmission will result in a straight grade.

It does look cleaned to me. I can see heavy deep scratches on the obverse. I believe PCGS was correct calling it cleaned. Not worth resubmitting as I don't think it'll straight grade.

@adam126402 I don't have the coin in hand yet but when zooming in on the TrueView pics they do not appear to cross over the devices or the letters BUS. With the PL Obverse I had hoped that these might be polishing lines.

I would say no based on the area around BUS.

I'd say the consensus is Cleaned. Once I have it in hand I will repost if I have any reason to doubt it. Thanks for the opinions all, I appreciate it.

The area below BUS could have been effected by just the simple wipe of someones thumb (maybe yearssssssssss ago) and that's all it takes for a detail grade. No to the resubmit.

The OP example has a mirror finish in the fields. A simple wipe puts cleaning lines on the mirror finish. I have a Morgan PL example that has both die polish lines and cleaning lines from a wipe that PCGS straight graded and CAC stickered.

I see scratches around the BUS of PLURIBUS. Not deep, but definitely noticeable.

The example is a 1901 O PCGS OGH CAC MS65 PL. The wipe lines are hard to photograph, but they are noticeable in hand. PCGS choose to straight grade the example with the light wipe lines. On a PL and DMPL it does not take much to put minor wipe lines on the mirror surface.
