Composed of .500 fine silver, this is small (under 16 mm across) and light (a mere half gram). It was issued when the future Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I was King of Bohemia and Hungary. These aren't uncommon, but I thought the condition of this example was markedly superior to most I've seen.

That's a cute 1545 :)

I wonder if anyone's put together a full date set of these or kortlings or some other small denomination. That seems like it'd be fun; and, for these denars, relatively affordable. (Who can actually afford to put together a date set of something like US half dimes?)

Yes, 1545, I've corrected that.

The problem with doing a date set of Hungarian denars is that the denomination was (nearly) continuously minted, with minimal variations, from 1503 until 1760 or so, with the 18th century dates in particular increasingly scarce.
I do know of some attempts of putting together date sets limited to the (easier) 16th century; I don't recall if any of them managed the full set even for that period.
