2003 Lincoln Penny With Odd Color

I have found a 2003 Lincoln Penny with a very unusual color. It is a yellowish color. It is the same color on all sides of the coin. I am hoping someone will be able to tell me what is going on with this penny. Thank you. See photos.

Looks it has been plated aftermarket.

Yes, appears to be plated. What is that feature on the reverse at the lower left point of the memorial's stairs? Clear gunk/glue perhaps?

I have seen some Zincolns tone this color following heat exposure, but the colorization is not usually this even and has some rainbow hues.

Could be plated with brass. Whether PMD or from copper bath contamination from melted zinc blanks. Being a stronger brass colour, I am leaning towards the former.
