I have this coin and I'm trying to decipher what year it is. I know it's a Umayyad Dirham Kirman but that's as far as what I can determine with a Google Image search. From looking at these type of coins online, it depends on the year for what it could be worth. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you so much!

I have the book "Arabic coins and how to read them" by Richard Plant, which goes into some detail on translating these Umayyad coins - they're actually easier than some later Islamic series as they tend not to have bits of the legend illegible or off-flan.

The obverse (top pic) of your coin has, in the legend around the outside, the mint and year of issue. In this case, it says it is indeed an Umayyad dirham, but from the Wasit mint (not Kirman) and was struck in the year two-and-ninety. Year 92 in the Islamic calendar converts to AD 711.

Wasit is a now-ruined city in what is now Iraq. Coins from this mint and time period are rather common.

Seconded -- I just picked this up in the last year, and it's very well-written.

Thirded! I've had a copy for more than a decade and it is my go-to resource.
