Every one is talking about it,

It was written somewhere once,

But lately, I have not seen an official "blurb".

The description of the Proof Set on the Mints website doesn't mention it either.

So how do we know FOR SURE that there is 95% copper Lincoln's in the 2009 Proof Set?

I thought I read some where that only the special Lincoln set (4 pennies and 1 commemorative) was going to have 95% copper composition

Go to the Mint web site and look at the uncirculated set under subscriptions. It says "Lincoln Cents contain an alloy consisting of 95% copper, 3% zinc and 2% tin that matches the alloy used in the 1907 cent." Here is the link.

I'm confused as to why they would specify 1907 instead of 1909!

I have seen this as well and wondered if it was just a typo.

Well.......the "1907" I.H.C. WAS .950 Copper ! ....... .....
But EVERY cent was .950 Copper up to 1982 when it changed to 0.8%.....(of course someone will say....nope....you forgot the "Steel Cents"....I didn't forget !).....

So anyway..... I'm thinking what JB was thinking.....typo.
