2023-P Quarter Error - "in Cod We Trust" Instead Of "god" - Real Mint Error?

Syd M New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 07/15/2025 9:24 pm Hi all, I found this 2023-P quarter in circulation and noticed that the motto appears to say " In Cod We Trust" instead of "In God We Trust." I've examined it closely and it doesn't look like it's been tampered with. The lettering seems to match the rest of the minting in terms of depth and style. I'm pretty confident this is a genuine mint error, possibly a filled die or strike-through issue, but I'd love to hear what the experts here think. Photos of the obverse, reverse, and a zoom of the motto are attached. • Is this a documented error? • Any thoughts on how rare it is or its approximate value? • Would you recommend grading this? If you look closely, there is a slight downstroke on the G that sometimes gets worn down. Just a poor font style by the artist. Value 25 cents. Report this Post to the Staff
