Just wondering if this could possibly be the 1964 Philadelphia proof Kennedy half dollar I've read about? Cameo appearance and the lines running through the neck area show amazing detail if you zoom in. Any possible serious value worthy of further follow up?
Aug.11/25 - Adding couple extra close up photos to show details. Also, highest grade for this coin is 68+ sold à yr ago at Heritage Auctions and that coin doesn't look near as clean as mine. And keeping in mind mine are shot through the enclosed mint plastic wrapper.

If you are talking about the "Accented Hair" variety you'll have to research that. I'm not all that familiar with those but your coin does seem to have amazing details to it.

Not the accented hair variety (bottom left serif of I in Liberty confirms). Is a nice looking proof.

Jackson12345, can you be a bit clearer as to what '64 proof you are referring too?

If you are asking if it is the rare SMS, the answer is no. It is a beautiful coin though.

a very nice looking Kennedy in this set - but I agree it is not either of the 2 types mentioned above.

You had asked for my reference on the 1964 proof. This was from an article "13 Most Valuable Kennedy half dollar Coins Worth Money" by John Saechao 21/05/2025. He mentions that the 1964 proof coins were struck in Philadelphia, not San Francisco, and the finish is noticeably inferior. Therefore higher grade proof coins are harder to obtain.
