Petespockets55 Pillar of the Community United States 5770 Posts	Posted 08/14/2025 07:12 am Hmmm. If it were a gouge on the die, wouldn't the end result be raised (on the coin)? It appears to be incuse on the coin, like you said. (Great images as always.) With multiple examples found, it seems like something stuck to the incuse part of the die and at least two coins were struck. In my mind, I would consider this a struck through. Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow. Report this Post to the Staff

After finding two coins with the same feature my brain just locked into a die defect of some sort.
