The mint seemed to be quite adamant about releasing the Army privy ASE on the actual anniversary. The date happened to to be Saturday June 14th, they used the Friday before that, Friday June 13. Following that guideline: Navy 250th anniversary will be Monday October 13, 2025 US Marine Corp 250th anniversary Monday November 10th, 2025. The mint has yet to reveal either date.

Very interesting. I hope they follow through on these release dates. I understand the earlier Friday release, because a weekend release would be a problem. There are no excuses for avoiding a Monday release, are there?

I don't think they'd avoid a Monday release. Hopefully with today done and tomorrows as well, they'll get some release dates updated.

Quote: I understand the earlier Friday release, because a weekend release would be a problem. I really don't understand why Saturday was an issue. Does it really affect staffing? Isn't this stuff all pretty much automated? As far as call in orders, I think the place is staffed, not around the clock, but certainly during the day on Saturday. They take federal holidays off, other than that they are open early and close late. Or they can just say "no phone orders until Monday". (EDIT or just put on the site "limited staff on release day will affect wait times".) This is supposed to be the computer age!

Quote: I believe it may also be that many/most customers are not available on the weekend I considered that aspect, and actually came up with the opposite reaction, that customers might like not having to spend time at work trying to order a coin. It would at least mix it up a little. Now that I'm semi retired, it doesn't matter as much. If they do these next privy releases on Mondays, I'll have to see what I'll do, as I've been trying to work Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday. I go in pretty early and leave mid afternoon. I could leave early, like 10 and be home in time to order. Or I guess the phone works too. I could go to my truck and be on it's WiFi.

I guess in the end it is a M-F/9-5 kind of thing.

Mint has posted "release" dates on their website: Navy PM will be October 10. USMC PM will be November 10.

The anniversary date is 10/13, pretty sure that's a typo and will get it corrected. They had it correct initially. If not, a Friday is easier for me anyways. But I think they are aiming to have these release on the anniversary date, again with the Army privy (one day early) exception. They evidently don't mind a Monday release since 11/10/25 is Monday.

We are not arguing what the anniversary date is, we are saying the Mint is not releasing this one on that date.
