Looks to be a rim Cud. Check out CU-1c-1983-55 Rim Cud, I think yours may be a slightly later stage of it. Fun find!

The length of it makes me think that it is a folded over Rim Fin.

JimmyD, I thought the same until I looked through the listings.

After the fact, to me it looked more like a rim Cud than a fold over.

That CU-1c is in a slightly different location than the OPs
and it doesn't extend down the rim.
Not saying you are wrong, this is just what I see.
Would have to have the coin in hand though to say for sure.

I went back and compared the two and agree it's different than the listing but still lean towards a rim Cud. Maybe JC can put in his Two Cents.

This is a MAD Strike (slight one) and to me I see a 'secondary' rim (fin) - so I'm going for a fold over Rim Fin (for now)

Didn't realize we were counting, JimmyD! Let me hit up JC and see if he'll chime in.

I'm in the rim Cud camp,
(most likely caused by a collar clash.)
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
