Was thinking about this the other day. The Statehood Quarter series obviously started something with the commemorative issue coins back then, since they have been doing it since. I can't help but feel that despite their efforts to kind of keep an interesting series, that attempts have fallen short honestly IMO, especially with the women's quarters. This brings me down to the question, which coin series would you actually prefer out of the two, the Statehood Quarter series or America the Beautiful? Honestly, as much as I've tried to get into them, I don't really care much for the ATB Quarters as their design and general premise seems to be kind of meh and bland to me, despite having an album of them currently. Not that the Statehood Quarters are the most fascinating either... But I feel like they had/have something going for them somewhat with their designs and the general premise of them. Any thoughts? What do you prefer, if given the preference? I am sure there are many who have/had collected both. |

They could keep going with the ATB series. So many National Parks and Monuments have not been commemorated. For example, Niagara Falls and Monument Valley come to mind. |

The 50SQ law required the mint to engage in educational activities. The mint did so. Generated a lot of interest. The subsequent ATB, Innovation Dollars, and NWQ series have not had education activities required. The mint has done a little bit. I prefer the Statehood Quarter series only because it is more recognizable to me. I'm not as familiar with all the National Parks and the designs kinda get lost on the coin unless it is proof. The Women quarters were ok, at least it was a short series. I'm not really looking forward to the kids sports series coming up. I'm not into sports so it's just meh to me. TBH I think they are over doing all these series. I know it was to get kids interested in coin collecting but every time they add one it creates one or two more albums to our collection. I know I don't have to collect them but my collecting personality is that I will need to add them. It's technically 5 coins for every design. P,D,& S business strike, Clad proof and Silver proof. That's alot of coins. |

If you don't like the prevance of circulating commemorative coins, talk to Congress. These series don't come from the Mint's imagination.

I consider the Statehood and the ATB sets as one collection - the ATB just goes into much more detail for each state. |

My sons tell me that I will like at least two sets of each. I actually have the proof and uncirculated set. They find the circulated sets.

I live in a country which has three values of coins, all of them replaceable with banknotes. There are, potentially three series to collect, an older one which you barely see any of any more, and middle one which looks pretty similar to the modern one, only they changed the color of one of the coins and made one of them smaller. I come from a country, which I go back to when I can, where I never find commemorative coins and we don't have a series like either one. I used to live in the US and the State Quarters was one of the things that got me into coin collecting in the first place. I still lack 14 of the state coins because after 9/11 I only went to the US once to go to Peru and back. But I like the series, I have no ATB coins, but I think I'd like collecting those. Much better than either the country I live in or the country I'm from. |

I very much enjoyed both series. Statehood Quarters are what got me back into numismatics and I haven't looked back. I think the artwork is much better (for the most part) on the ATB coins. Also I really enjoyed the 5oz versions and I agree with NumisEd that it could have gone another round; so many great parks out there. |

I have complete sets of the statehood and ATB Quarters and also the territories quarters. I don't prefer one over the others, but there are good and some not so good designs in all of them. Same with the American Women Quarter too, but I only have them up to 2022. |
