I found this cent yesterday and I went back through old posts and could not find anything like it even though I know I have seen something like this before. So forgive me if it has been covered before. At 1st I thought the pattern mark above liberty was possibly a die clash but I know very little about clashes and don't think it is one. Also showed a picture of some extra metal above "GOD WE". The rim in that area is intact and not damaged. Please give you your opinions about all of this. Maybe it is just PMD? Thanks!

Over LIBERTY is a reed mark from another coin and what's at the rim is either a Rim Fin folded over or just misplaced metal, I would say the latter.

I'm thinking that what you're seeing is all PMD.

I'm on team struck-through Rim Fin too, although I suppose that the extra metal could be a minor lam that flaked off of the last two letters of GOD.

The thin, folded over metal reminds me of a nickel I found. According to Mike Diamond, it was simply displaced metal scraped from the edge and rim into a thin apron over the coin surface.

As others have noted, the jagged toothy marks are Reed Marks.
