Interesting. Looks like a split plating issue, which has exposed the zinc core--leading to zinc rot.

Not an RPM. It's from the result of Split Plating and zinc rot.

There is definitely zinc rot going on here and odd there is no listing for an RPM that looks like this. All this said, If I had this coin, I would send it in to one of the attributers, Wexler, cc or VV. The interior diagonal lines up perfectly with outer area.


ADDED. I reached out to Tanner in hopes he will take a look at this thread and possibly save the OP some time if he feels it is not worthy.

I agree with zinc rot. There is certainly some white zinc corrosion visible.

That diagonal line inside the mintmark is likely just loose copper plating that has shifted due to the zinc corrosion under it.

That sure is some interesting split plating. It would seem that, that is the most common direction that it forms.
