Check this out! This ebay seller has listed a 1937-D 3 legged Buffalo nickel, but when you go to his description, it says 1921-S nickel (well, "nickle, to use HIS spelling) and then it talks about selling...stuff. Nowhere is there a picture of the coin! Here's the bizarre thing, 9 people have bid and it's up to $230.00. What are they bidding on?http://cgi.ebay.com/1937-D-Buffalo-...hZ017QQitemZ270400943581QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

If you look at his other auctions for sale, he has alot of coins listed with few pics. He has gotten quite a few bids, He does have another auction for the 1921S. I think it is just an error on his part. Estate sale, Too busy to reply to emails. I wouldn't bid without at least seeing a picture of what I'm bidding on.

Ratman: My point, exactly. There appear to be at least 9 people, however, who are willing to bid sight unseen. Crazy.

At least they will accept returns with no questions asked (so they claim). MIGHT be worth going after something if the end of the auction is near and it is going super cheap.

I find it concerning that every coin he has listed that comes up on the first page of "stuff" from the same seller is graded at XF. Only a couple pics of the coins. I would not risk it.

He's got a fair amount of positive feedback for the few months he's been on ebay. This ended auction is a pretty impressive one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...270388523661I think this guy is on the level, but I don't accept anybodys grading. I would need to see before I bid.

ebay is notorious for rip-offs and people who are satisfied until they realize that they have been ripped off. I've seen people posting on the ebay coin forum about difficulty in returning a coin that was less than desirable..

Another shady listing. Look folks, if there are not CLEAR pictures of both sides of the coin of the actual coin you will receive, as well as a No questions asked return policy or at least a return policy, DO NOT BID! Walk away. This coin should be certified by a reputable TPG or no go.

Plus, the auctions that do have pictures are not constant, small/large sized pics; black, grey, white background. Probably "took" other pictures from google or past ebay auctions.

I have returned 2 coins that I bought on ebay with no problems. However, this looks to me like some people who like to gamble a couple hundred bucks for a coin worth a few thousand (if it is legit).

Quote: Here's the bizarre thing, 9 people have bid and it's up to $230.00. Maybe the seller opened nine accounts to place phony bids so that people will think the coin is legit.

Quote: ratman: How about a 1893-S Morgan? With NO picture of the coin's reverse! I can see it now: "Oh, I'm sorry, it's an 1893-O, my mistake!"
