Someone on the Son of A Silver Stacker YouTube channel bottomed this and I verified. On the same page at the Mint (shopping subscription) the show the 2026 Congrats Set. In the pictures they show a single (2026) date proof. They also show the reverse and it's a Philly!? OGP all looks the same as this year. The description of it shows it as a W. But I'm betting the pictures tell the tale.

Very interesting - I keep looking for the mints next year schedule to quietly post up to see what they have planned. I don't get the Congrats set (no reason to) but without the LESPS, I'll have to see if this would be the only way to get the Philly ASE..... (let the conspiracy theories start)

Maybe it's a way to have a standard Proof and a 250th Proof version.

Well, whether it is a smart idea or not, I decided to get a second Congrats set on subscription. I got 2 this year as well, although I ended up buying a graded Congrats set. So I now have 3. The one I got on subscription, I opened that one and is in my OGP set. The second one I ordered on drop day is still in the shipping box, I could go ahead and sell that at some point. The graded one I actually traded a second raw 25APM (Army privy) I had a neighbor buy for me. Probably a fair trade for both of us. I had looked at getting that one graded myself, but for someone like me, who appreciates OGP coins,I couldn't justify the expense of getting a grading company membership. And I loved the label I found, I can pay a pic if anyone wants to see it. There are a few reasons I wanted to start getting a slabbed Congrats set ASE this year, I'll probably do a video at some point about that. If this really is a P, I think it may be the real sleeper ASE next year. I can always deactivate the second subscription if I don't think it's worth having. The guy I bought my graded one from I'm sure can just sell me the same label Congrats set again.

I've not been a "Congratulations Set" purchaser but I am an ASE collector. If the Congratulations Set issued in 2026 is the only way to get a "P" mint marked ASE, then sign me up. However, the inconsistency seen on the subscription page, as Gilly shows us in the OP, is troublesome. An indicator that the artwork is wrong and the description is right: The Mint Item number shown is "NP". Unless the USM is changing its item number format, the "NP" ought to be preceded by "26," e.g., "26NP." Additionally, the item number for the 2025 Congratulations Set is "25RH." 2024 Set Item Number is "24RF". . .2023 was "23RF." My speculation is "NP" stands for "Not Published" and the USM drone tasked with updating the "Congratulations Set Subscription" page https://www.usmint.gov/congratulati...tion-NP.html has done a terrible job cutting & pasting artwork files. This issue needs a prompt resolution. Have a fine Friday.

Billy They definitely could have used the image of the reverse of the Marine privy instead of the standard W proof reverse. To me, that would be a pretty shocking mistake to make. The other strange thing though, is how they ended up with the single date instead of the West Point dual date? That image, although just computer generated, was done intentionally. (EDIT, I think they are throwing "Easter eggs" at us, people love that)
Additional thought is possibly they are planning a multiple coin set for the 250th? I could see a Philly proof like this one being part of the set, although you'd think they'd all have the Liberty Bell privy for such a set. And, maybe there will be? Maybe the P proof in the congrats set without and one for this set I've imagined, with the privy? My vision would look like the 20th Anniversary 3 coin or the 25th Anniversary 5 coin set?

Gilly: Interesting thoughts. . .I can't give the Mint credit for being clever enough to introduce 'easter eggs' to their marketing materials. . .I think it was a "cut & paste" error. . .good point re: privy mark. I have assumed the "250" PM with the Liberty Bell would show up on all higher-end 2026 issues. Sent an email to the Mint; we'll see if we get an answer: Quote:Re: Congratulations Set Subscription Page on Website: https://www.usmint.gov/congratulati...tion-NP.htmlGood Day: The Description of this item states the American Silver Eagle will be struck at West Point. The artwork shows an American Silver Eagle with a "P" -- Philadelphia -- mint mark. Which is correct - the artwork or the description ? Thank you for the clarification. Sincerely,

Just received a response from the Mint: Quote: Dear XXXXX, This letter is in response to your recent correspondence to the United States Mint. Thank you for the information you provided about the discrepancy on our image vs the description for the Congratulations Set Subscription. We have sent the information up to headquarters to have this updated with the correct information. We appreciate your correspondence with us in regards to this matter. Please be advised the description for the item above is correct and the image is not. This item is minted in West Point and will have a W Mint Mark. Do I get an "Encyclopedia Brown" merit badge ?

Not to take away from your efforts, but "keep an eye on this space". I've been given some pretty BS replies from the Mint before.

We'll see how long it takes the USM to change the image displayed on the Subscription page. . .as of 35 minutes ago, it was the same incorrect image. I guess ASE collectors can hope it's a unique (and scarce) issue.

Quote: Do I get an "Encyclopedia Brown" merit badge ? Nice reference. I read those books over and over as a kid, and now I'm reading them to my son at bedtime. Some of the mysteries are rather...dated. Quote:They would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you modeling kids! Scooby-Doo is next on the cartoon list. Watching those kids outwit adults that are pretending to be ghosts and ghouls is way better than this new-fangled k-pop demon hunter garbage. (Get off my lawn!)
