What a great story and what a great coin. I have bought coins from the same dealer since the 70's (I went to high school with him). If he ever closes shop I think I will go into a long depression, he has taught me so much about coins, life and being an honorable person. All of us that have a relationship like that need to cherish what we have.

Here's an idea. You should buy him something that he likes, nothing extravagant like what he gave you, but something he would really like as you way of saying thanks for keeping me employed for 26 years and happy retirement.

The French poet Jacques Dilille wrote, "Fate chooses your relationships, you choose your friends". I would say that you both chose very well.

I know how much I lean on my local dealer here in Houston. If he retired it would be such a loss. Those kind of good business relationship are precious.

Some times when the turns you find yourself in a new chapter

Good Luck
