$50. #7 of 35 Morgans purchased recently. This one has a heavily toned obverse. Hard to believe that silver closed at $56.33/ounce, which makes the melt value of this beauty $43.68. Premiums on unc Morgans are tiny and closing in on flipping negative. Thoughts? Thanks!

This could be a really fun coin to VAM, with lots of die breaks and polishing lines. It looks like a nice solid MS-63 to me. The cheek gash probably holds it back from MS-64. The other field marks and the nicks on the eagle's breast wouldn't be excessive for MS-64.

The obverse toning is a bit of an eye appeal issue, and there are a couple spots from the center of the cheek to just below the jaw that might warrant keeping an eye on changes over time. I prefer originality to dipping, but this one may be worth a discussion about what the obverse would look like after a quick dip.

Really solid coin, and a good bargain now at that price.

this one was improperly stored. give her an acetone bath but I'm not sure how much that would help. as she sits MS62+ if you can get the eye appeal up a notch it would push it over the line
