Last night the gamble paid off handsomely: I won the top prize of an original, no-problem 1903-S half eagle. I'd put the grade at about AU-50. The owner gave away an Eagle, Half Eagle, and Quarter Eagle in a drawing at the bid board close a year ago last December. he didn't do it this year - guess times are hard.
