Yes, looks like a small chip inside of the first C.

Are you aware of the site called Vamworld? If that's a die chip, I would have to believe it's listed there.

There are 1878-CC die pairs with a die chip in the mintmark. Yours might be a VAM-20 for example, but full coin photos of the obverse and reverse would be needed to confirm.

Thank you the responses and thank you Zurie for suggesting it might be a VAM-20. I recently purchased the latest edition of the VAM book but to be honest I wasn't sure it the die chip met the criteria of a VAM.

My scope is currently in storage so camera photos is all I have to work with right now so apologies for the grainy pics. The close ups are best I can do at this time.
This coin is a GSA Hoard Morgan.

The photos are pretty grainy, but the markers look correct for VAM-20. Date position is right, the die gouges in the eye and on the leaf are present, and the denticle impression between T and A is there. Nice GSA coin!

Right on Zurie, Thanks for your efforts and time.

I know, I need to find a camera that can take crystal clear photos, camera phone is not cutting it. If anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears..lol.
