Quote: Yeah.... Evidently, this is not one of Dansco's albums that are in production currently? April 19, 2023—We are currently running album 7070 US Type Album. This is a five page book. https://www.danscousa.com

I was at my LCS earlier in the week and they had several for $54 each.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

good luck on a 7070 set. Go to the Dansco site and put in a 'Notify Me' request. I do that for any album I needed. I would think that if Dansco gets tons of requests, they may produce some more. The Dansco Album Store

There are tons of places you can buy 7070's, don't get discouraged so easily.
You realize when you know how to think, it empowers you far beyond those who know only what to think.

Many collectors find classic coins more fun to collect than modern, and one reason is that they're more beautiful to look at. The different images of Lady Liberty and eagles, as well as the other artistic and metaphoric devices used back then are much more compelling than contemporary images of U. S. presidents.

The Dansco Album Store Just to be clear, Dansco (the album maker) and The Dansco Album Store (a website selling albums) are separate unrelated companies. There is no relation other than the latter being a vendor/reseller for the former. This relationship is no different that between Dansco (the album maker) and Wizard. Dansco (the album maker) does not have a 'Notify Me' option. They only way to make request is to contact them via their website: https://www.danscousa.comPeople get them confused all the time, so I wanted to make it clear. Carry on.

I collect anything that interests me. Once I have enough of it I move on to another interest. But then I circle back. I always come back to San Francisco coins minted before 1860. Last time it was for one of the dimes. I've been working on them for 40 years, and I'm sure I'll never finish them. Short time series like this are something you might consider. Pck a design you like and can afford then narrow it. Maybe the 1920's Walkers. Or the early Buffalo nickels.

I feel the same way! I think my next move is going to be a 7070 "Capital Plastic". Mine might not be the highest grades...but I have enough to make it intriguing...and keep me motivated. I think that's my next goal. Plus the Capital Plastic's are great for displaying. Do a search for 7070 Capital Plastic's and check out some of the amazing coins! That's where I'm at right now. we'll see...and I'll show you if/when I get a board. smat

The thing is, people seem to get confused because the "Dansco albums store" seems to work neck and neck in terms of updates to products and item availability, if that makes sense. Also, on the actual Dansco official website... You can't purchase anything lol I've confused them in the past because the Dansco album store seems to be quite official, even if they aren't.

thanks jbuck, I guess I wasn't very clear, I linked to the Dansco album Store for folks to find and buy albums and pages, not to the Dansco USA site.

Like the OP, I started with Jeffersons (38-64). I liked them because of appearance and the fact I could complete the set in uncirculated grades. Well, the 39 D could use a bit of improvement. I also really like the "war" nickels as they have a particular luster. I then moved to Buffalo nickels and Barber halves, both of which I completed. I didn't get bored. I like to think I got better at grading. I collect other series in an ongoing manner with no hope of ever completing the set, Seated Liberty (or Liberty Seated) Halves being one. I add a new date when I can and when I see an example I like. I recently started collecting Morgans. Classic coins appeal to me for a variety of reasons: their history, the designs, and the composition, particularly silver.
