Just picked this up unattributed, just want to make sure I am not trying to see VAM 9A that's not there! It's probably XF details for those scoring at home.

Thanks!

Sometimes indicators for a VAM are small and you need a magnifier to verify. Clashed letters can be hard to see. As a die is used the indicators gradually weaken, become late die stage then are gone. I don't see enough clashes to say it's a VAM 9A. The only clash I think I see is faint on reverse between the wing and N.

Let me also clarify, if not the 9A, it is at least a VAM 9, correct? I have return privileges.

Looks like a VAM 9 to my eyes, check the die scratches around the cotton balls to be sure.

I'd say VF details still a very wanted coin! Nice cherrypick.

Can you give us a nice clear close up of this area at the neck?

It has the clash (but too small), I'll upload it later. But it is the start to the major clash, I believe this is probably a transitional piece between VAM 9 and 9A.

From what I can see in the photos, this is potentially the VAM-9 reverse.

When dies clash, the clash marks usually wear away as subsequent coins are struck. So, you might have a LDS version of the clash rather than EDS. Best to use other die markers to determine if VAM-9/9A

Thanks for the extra pic. If it's there it's hiding very well.

I am not sure what you are asking for. I was trying to rule out VAM-9A, which I think that pic did. Hope this helps, if not, let me know.

Thank you very much, John..
From the other coin website, Vic - "Marvic", I no longer go there, stupid argument with the guy that plasters his face all over YouTube.

Edit: Took some of the stuff I wrote off, just to be nice...

CoinForMe, did not know if we were on the same page about John. I was referring to the slab your coin was in, VSS.
