$67. #3 of 40 acquired recently. Recently I purchased 40 slabbed Morgan dollars (36 ANACS, 3 PCGS and 1 ICG) and will post one a day alongside one Peace dollar. I paid an average of $67 for the 40 coins. This time I will post the grade of the coin 2 days after and this time we can compare our grades with those of TPGs. Thoughts? Thanks! I'll say MS-61. Lots of bag marks.
Errers and Varietys.

With all the breaks in the luster on the high points, I'd be at AU-58. "Commercial Unc".

This is a busy coin. I see fairly heavy die clashing, which could make this an interesting VAM. There is quite a bit of clash polishing and maybe some die pitting or a possible lamination, as well. The obverse certainly suggests some circulation, especially in the hair above the ears and eyes and the bear claws, as well as the cheek. I'm not seeing as clear indicators of circulation on the reverse. You have the coin in hand, and will be better able to determine that. I also can't tell what is going on at the rim to the left of the "O" in ONE. That could be lighting or an indication of damage. There appears to be one fairly deep knock on the jaw. All that said, if what is on the cheek is the result of a rusted/pitted die or a lamination, there aren't many contact marks on this coin apart from the deeper hit on the jaw. That would make it either AU-58 or MS-62. If those are contact marks on the cheek, it's either AU-58 or MS-61. PCGS details some coins with laminations using a 93 code, and I strongly disagree with PCGS on that issue, because grading should only reflect the state of preservation after the coin leaves the mint. Bottom line, I can't make a call here between circulated and uncirculated on this coin and can't decide what is going on with the cheek (pitting? lamination? contact marks? combination of those?). My hunch is that the issue near ONE is lighting, rather than damage to the coin, so I'm disregarding that. IMHO it's either AU-58 or MS-61/62 depending on how those issues appear in hand.

My first reaction was AU-58, but the reverse looks UNC. Will say MS-62

Frankly, I thought 62+. TPG thought otherwise... Maybe the scrape in the cheek?
