I just purchased a type 69 confederate note which is the red five dollar note. I was just wondering about the history of this note. Why was it made how many and when and where was it used? Sorry I cant post any pictures.

There are quite a few that are counterfeit

What are the serial numbers on the note?

I'm not at home right now to see it but I work at a coin store and we have a guy that knows a lot about paper so I'm pretty sure that its real. Plus its not in the best of condition and a relatively common type so I should be just fine.
