CRH find. I can see that there is a lot of detail missing around the obverse perimeter. Everything tapers out towards the edge. I would have tossed it immediately, but the reverse is so pristine and well struck, and that the mismatch just seemed odd. Is this a Greaser? I don't think PMD would so cleanly affect just the area near the rim, although I guess a coin machine could do that. The fuzziness made me think of a coin struck through a late stage die cap, but there is no visible ghosting on the bust or lettering.

A grease mediated radial smear. That's a new one to me! I would call that a strong candidate.

Before reading what you wrote, I looked at the pics and immediately thought a Greaser. That is my thought also, and also some nice what I thought were roller lines but there are none on the reverse.

Thanks for the help, guys.

I wonder if the lines were caused by the grease, or if they are from an unrelated circulation event.
