Good afternoon community!

Ive been wanting to get an opinion on this one for years but never got around to it. This cent was found among an inherited collection. It was carded but no details were written on the flip. My initial though was, that it could've been an attempted punch but was corrected. (I'm never that lucky ) so my next thought was that it was just a large die chip.

Looks like a Lamination peel or a Struck Through copper foil error.

I'm in with E&V, looks like a lamination issue. Look at the area in between the yellow lines, I think you will find more evidence of this.

Makecents nailed it, the more interesting area to me is Abe's collar and above his tie....shame about the PMD to the date but still a cool coin.

Oh..... to CCF....looking forward to seeing more of this collection...

Very nice example of a lamination error. How the O was flattened and that piece wasn't knocked off is pretty lucky.
