*** Edited by Staff to Add Year and/or Mintmark and/or Denomination to Title. It's essential to have it in the title. ***

1976 Bicentennial Washington quarter.
Notice a gouge above and below the left eye. My guess is that the die chipped above the eye and the metal piece got stuck below the eye. The mintmark, am sure it is a D but looks like a big dot completely filled and off shape of a D. Also wondering if there is slightly doubling on the words E. Pluribus unum. Would much appreciate your thoughts and opinions. Thank you and a good day to all.

Looking at the ring around the drum on the reverse...he's actually stuck-up pretty well.
The "smash" marks on his right eye and cheek are some kind of PMD.
As far as the filled MM...as well as the "doubling" on EPU...there were over 860M minted...and the die's used were somewhat pushed beyond their useful life causing DDD.
Thanks for posting!

@sel, yes the die that struck this quarter was a bit tired and the post that was supposed to form the middle space of the letter D had previously broken off. This is a fun find, but does not add to the value of the coin.

The little drummer boy got a nice circulation hit fight in the face, causing the scrape and piled up metal.
the D Mint mark had a broken post, which preventing the center hole to form.
