Jefferson nickel, cannot see date, possibly off center strike/doubling obverse and reverse... Pictures are terrible so apologies...

Weight it - may be acid damage.

I don't think that this damage is the result of a dryer as that seems to enlarge the rims rather than wiping them away. I do agree that this nickel didn't leave the mint looking like this.

Agree that it's a damaged coin. Not a Dryer Coin however.

I agree, it could be one of many things but not a Dryer Coin nor did it leave the mint looking that way.

It's some kind of damage. PMD. Not sure what caused it, but it's not an error.

When I first looked at the side picture I thought it looked like acid may have eaten into the sides but after looking closer the rims have seem to be pounded (rounded) over the side of the nickel.

Damage from a rock tumbler / polisher? Just a guess on my part.
