I'm at MS-63. The face is pretty baggy looking.

I'd say MS-64. Looks possibly semi-PL, which may be accentuating some of the surface marks.

i think the bluish tints may be a reflection from the surroundings. if it is, be careful whats around that can reflect off the surfaces as it alter what we see.

lots of minor scrapes, abrasions and small marks. I'm going to go with that the bluish tint on both sides is not on the coin. if it is, then I'm saying that coin may have been cleaned and improperly stored. the dull fields around the eagle could have been from a dip and blue tint could be from improper rinsing. the round white spots at all around the reverse and most prominent at K4-5 could be droplets from this as well. maybe let us know what the coin actually looks like in hand and if this is what you see. there are pock marks under US and more spotting on the obv K4-5 as well.

a blue tint does not follow the proper toning sequence for a silver coin. the sequence is almost always

yellow
brown
blue
red
green
purple
black

I'm not seeing any yellow or brown undertones.

MS63 possible details (cleaned)

I went ahead and purchased it with 30 day return privilege. I'll post in hand pics when it arrives.

Thanks, everyone!

I like it and I say a strong 64. Most decent MSD's have some face issues but the hair and ear are strong, the rims are nice, and the bird has real decent feathering. The nose is strong too.

It may be a shade under a 65 but its a strong "CC" and I'd consider buying it.

cant wait to see in-hand photos of this one. I wasnt sure if you had it already so my previous comment assumed you did. maybe include in the comment if you own it or not for future coins. it would not make a difference in the assessment but some of my verbiage.

Sellers photos can be an adventure. I agree that this looks at least MS-63 SPL, and possibly PL, if the surfaces are original. I think there are a few more contact marks lurking in the fields than the photos show, and I see some dings on the peripheral lettering that could suggest contact marks hidden by reflection or shadow in the central devices. With return privileges, this looks like a decent one to examine in hand. The reverse looks nice, and might pull the obverse up a half step.

MS-63 but not sure on about PL. Might be a semi-PL.

Here are the in-hand photos. It has strong 360 luster on both sides. I don't think it has been dipped or cleaned, but it did come out of an album according to the seller. So storage may not have been ideal. Overall, I'd say the obverse cheek has a little more chatter than I expected while the fields are better than I expected. The reverse fields and devices are better than I expected.

Blown up photos aside, twirling it around in hand, it looks very nice.

So, do these photos change anyone's opinion one way or another?
