So did anyone else get coins, or related supplies for Father's Day? I got a Jefferson nickel Dansco from the kiddies. I also got the elusive 1938s I was missing (go figure). I bought the 1950d last week. Got an unc for $12. Not bad. So, anyone else?

I got an 1878-S Morgan Long Nock ( VAM 26) in XF in the mail on Friday ... but that's something I got for myself. On Sunday it was three golf shirts and a new belt. My beloved family won't venture down the coin path. They know the amount of time I've invested in research and let me walk that path alone. That's another reason I've extensively catalogued and priced the collection. That way they have a reasonable chance of profiting from it should I depart unexpectedly.

I hope everything works out for your dad, Eagle. My Grandmother gave me a completed Littleton Statehood Quarter folder. She said she knew I probably had them already, but wanted me to have something from her that was special. Special indeed. She spent ten years assembling something that reminded her of me. This is a set that I will always cherish!

Thanks JB... This isn't his first rodeo with this.....(last year .....collapsed lung) And yeah....that gift from your Grandma is awesome......ten years of effort ! That reminds me of that African proverb about the little boy bringing a gift to his teacher......the other kids brought various gifts, but HE walked MANY MANY MILES overland on a HUGE TREK, to get his teacher a "handful of sand"........and she was most touched by "the journey" for this gift, actually becoming the gift, rather than the "actual" gift itself. Ten years of time from Grandma for that gift shows how much she loves ya ! ... P.S. Was it a "P" & "D" mint ?...

No, it one per year. I have not removed any of them to see if there are any D-Mint coins; I doubt I ever will. It is actually a good looking set.

No one really knows what I need, but there's a tradition in our household.
Since Father's Day usually corresponds with the start of really nice weather here, I usually wind up getting two Hawaiian shirts every year, and the louder, the better, the kids have discovered.
This year's were no exception.
They are usually delivered to me after breakfast; every year for Father's Day, I make Eggs Benedict.
The Eggs Benedict/Hawaiian shirt thing has gotten to be almost a ritual around here.
