I have a Whitman album (for British minor type set) with the plastic slides where two of the coin slots are a bit too wide. The coins just kind of float and turn around in their holes.

Does anyone know of any trick to adding something that would sort of shrink that hole and keep the coin snug around the rim?

I have that issue with my Dansco quarter album (8140) where a few holes are slightly too large - I used white thread to 'wrap' around the quarter in the hole to hold it in position.

If you have any excess material from "Black Ring Air-Tites" you can cut a sliver of foam and add it to the hole in the album. Or I imagine any other type foam that won't harm coin metal.

Rather have your problem than mine. I picked up a New Whitman album for Jefferson nickels and the holes are so tight I was struggling trying to get nickels in it and gave up.

Any inert material can be used as a shim. Acid free, archival quality paper stock is probably the easiest to size and handle. I have seen cardboard from 2x2s used.

You could also cut a sliver from the clear slides a little less than the circumferences you need. I've never done it but seen it mentioned several times.
