I'm sure all you coin roll hunters indulge in a bit of daydreaming about what treasures could be lurking in that next bank roll. There could be Franklins or Walkers that were accidently turned in by a collector's clueless family member. Perhaps an old jar of coins was run through a Coinstar, only to end up in machine-wrapped rolls at your local bank. Who knows? Remember that poster who wrote about finding a gold ducat coin in a roll of cents? There's always a chance!

Well how about this scenario? You go into the bank and get a customer-wrapped nickel roll. It looks a bit old, with someone's account number scrawled on the side and one end is sealed with plastic tape. The roll seems strangely heavy in your hand.

Favorite-Coin-Fantasy....

You carefully open it up and spill it out onto your sensuous black velvet tablecloth....

OK, so I have a vivid and possibly perverse imagination. The event never actually happened and I put the roll together using my collection of raw half eagles. I keep checking rolls because hey, you never know!

My fantasy involves some clueless soul at a yard sale selling me a Mint State 1921-D VAM-1X for $10 because it's got all that ugly extra metal on it.

That was such a tease. I was sure hoping that was the real deal. Now I have to go get some rolls to search.

LOL Great one, !

Let's all remember that there are eccentric people out there who hoard stuff and hide it just like this. Possible? Yes. Probable, erm not really.... :\

Mine has something to do with a pile of Double Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Hey, you said it was a fantasy.

how come I knew if you had a fantasy it would involve this coin, even though my thoughts wasn't exactly someone selling you one as much as it was some of the strange things you would do to it once you had it in your hands
