I have a question that I could use some help with.
I found this US penny in change that I received in one of my visits to the United States it's not in the best shape but has doubling on the date and some of the lettering. I'll post some pictures the date and the S have strong doubling, I think all the letters were doubled when new but has wear now but the in , god, and the t,r,s,t, in god we trust still show doubling.
My question is is it a small or large dated coin and is the sought after coin or the lesser coin to look for?
Thanks for any help.

Hello,

What you have is Machine Doubling. It occurs when the die bounces or slides to one side when the coin is struck. This is extremely common and does not carry any premium value.

A 'Doubled Die' would carry a premium, not Machine Doubling.

Also master hub doubling that can make the same doubling on all mints of coins. The classic example is the 1972 with a large percentage that have the common master die doubling.
