The winning bidder on my item misunderstood the listing and now wants to cancel the win. He offered to pay the fee for relising the item. Since the winning bid was low I'm actually OK with this proposal. I'm not looking to hit the buyer with negative feedback. However, how can we legitimately do this without violating ebay policy?
Has anyone else successfully handled a similar situation?

Thanks for the input!

you have to inform ebay of the cancelation so you will not be charge of the selling fees and you can have a free relisting. If he pays relisting who pays your fees for selling? If one or both of you agrees to pay for the fees then you don't need to report it.

Thanks Manila, that's how I handled it. ebay canceled the listing and I'm not out any fees. I'm not sure I even want to re-list the item; it is a roll of BU clad 1993-D Kennedy halves and practically no one was interested the first time. I'll offer it here on the forum and if no one bites I'll just re-deposit it at my bank. That's where I got it in the first place!
