My dealer sent my WAM into NGC, give it your best shot! Hard to see it in the pics, but this coin is HIGHLY lusterous.

I'd say AU 58 maybe MS 60 but I am never right on these things.

I remember in the thread that you reported finding this that your dealer thought it could go MS66. I don't think so, but 64 wouldn't surprise me at all. Again, sweet find!

Conservative bunch! My dealer estimated MS-67/68....I said 64. We'll know in a couple weeks.

will it go that high w/ the carbon spot and I see what looks like hair lines across his face and coat and the steps are not full

The lines across the face are just due to the strike. Weakness like that are common on the modern cents. None of the TPG's grade on the steps quality....unfortunately. That is a weak point on the die and the first area to show die wear, that's what this coin shows. There's hardly a hit on the coin, the spots are the only distraction. Even though the pictures don't show it, the coin is extremely lusterous. That super luster will go a long way with NGC, at least I think.

I would go with either MS62 or AU-58. Carbon spot like those are very distracting to me. It looks like it has hairlines in the field in front of the face and below the monument, but it could just be the photo. I also think I see scuffs on the cheek and shoulder but I would probably be able to tell more in person with rotating the coin in the light. Good luck on your submission. NGC has 5 of mine right now and if they grade like I think they will, could be huge coins for my registry set.
