Took this photo with my cellphone at the ANA Worlds Fair of Money in Los Angeles. As much as I wanted to handle it, it was behind 1" bullet proof plexiglass not to mention motion sensors inside the cube, as well as police officers and armed security everywhere. I was at least close enough to see contact marks and all the details I believe it was insured for a mere $7.5 million.
It would be fun to meet. I would love to ask you about your gold panning experiences. If you are ever cruising through Santa Barbara County, give me a heads up by PM and we can get together.
Would have loved to see this coin up close. Would enjoy hearing some of your panning experiences also. I did a lot of that when I lived in Southern California back in the 80's.
