On average, how many hours per week do you view/examine your coin collection?

I go through at least 20 to 40 rolls of twoonies a week - it takes me from a few seconds to some minutes per coin - you do the math
(I have no pets and no garden. I have grown up kids and an ex-wife that looks after them - even the spiders in my condo die of neglect)

I don't really get them out unless I am adding some.

About an hour total in a week, I spend more time outside tracking down a specific coin that interests me. Once collected it's off to find another coin type except Fridays to Sundays

Actually handling and looking at things I already have: 1 hour or less. Actively looking for new items in various venues: many hours a week.

I see a nice coin at a fair price, I buy it, then I get home and find out that I had that date-mint variety already! If I'm lucky, it's a higher grade than the coin(s) I have and it will qualify as an 'upgrade'...

I would say probably about 3 or 4 hours a week. I check to see if I can upgrade anything at the right price,

I put 2 hours, because I counted time I spend at coin shop looking for new ones to add.

I've been an "active" collector only 2-3 years but I've had a collection all my life. Now that I've learned to grade coins properly (with much help from this forum), I've been reviewing all my coin gradings and values and finding some of them are *way off*, so I have to redo the whole collection. This is very time consuming and a lot of fun! I spent a whole afternoon on my dozen or so George II coins.
So currently I might spend 10-20 hours a week "viewing or examining or organizing" my collection but normally I'm far too busy with other coin-related activities, mostly buying and selling coins and reading fascinating forum discussions!

There is no category for me in the poll. I NEVER look at what I already have as a "collection", unless someone needs research..... and I do nothing with it between May and Oct. Come November, when I get back from one of my biannual trips to Baltimore, I then spend 7-8 hours a week looking at things that I got from ebay or auctions for the last 6 months. My Winter purchases, that I pick up in April, I may not get to til the next Fall. I now have close to 5000 Vicky large cents and really only look at the ones I have already sealed or have in piles when someone has a question on the CCRS board or one here. I really don't have a "collection" .... I have a large hoard of really great varieties and I try to educate people on them .. and provide population/scarcitiy on what I have found in my seraches. I am lucky to live in a very rich coin show/auction region so I see a great many coins.

Since I am working on a book about them, I am spending 40 to 60 hours per week with Canadian large cents.

I usually spend about 1 hr a week. Sometimes a little more if I get the urge to add some new coins.
