What Type Of Error Is This? - Coin Community Forum

Susanlynn9 Forum Mom United States 5877 Posts	Posted 09/14/2009 3:09 pm These coins definitely appear to have Mint damage, not post-Mint. It seems to me that these coins are cracked/crumbled due to weak points in the planchet. Opinions are greatly appreciated. Report this Post to the Staff

MorgansRmine Pillar of the Community United States 1219 Posts	Posted 09/14/2009 3:47 pm The 1945 appears to be planchet flaw with lamination. On the 1963 I wouldn't be surprised if this is post mint damage. Maybe from some kind of electrical arc. Report this Post to the Staff

The 1963 nickel shows a small ragged clip. Error coin writer and researcher. Report this Post to the Staff
