A few months back, I bought a cheap roll of lib nicks off of ebay. While going through them, I found a dateless Shield nickel. Does this count as finding a Shield nickel while roll searching?
I ask because I need to know if this is fair game for bragging rights.

By the way, I researched die varieties and think it is an 1869.

I'm gonna have to say no. Roll searching finds should constitute circulation finds...not prerolled ebay deals

But we like pics regardless

If you have Nic-A-Date, the chemical that restores dates on Buffalo nickels, it works on dateless Shield nickels too. I haven't found a Shield yet with all of the nickel rolls that I go through; still hoping to do so before I am done!
