yes, exact specs as a half dollar since almost all of the classic commems were half dollars(other than Lafayette and Isabella)

Not only is it the best commem around; it's also where I'm from. I climb that big hunk of granite nearly every weekend! Needless to say it's my personal favorite.

You have a sentimental reason for this Commemorative being your favorite, I collect them and have to say, I could not pick ONE as my favorite, the older ones are sooo sweet looking I do not know where to start to begin to share some of the beauty placed on these round, silvery works of art....PS: The Stone Mountain Comm could be obtained for under $100 in AU-MS condition, the better the condition(grade) the higher the premium you will find paying...

A number of classic commems circulated as half dollars and the Stone Mountain did tend to circulate quite a bit, probably due to its 1.31 million mintage. That mintage was massive considering most classic commems had a mintage under 100,000 and a large number were under 50,000. The mintage was only surpassed(barely) by the 1893 Columbian. The Stone Mountain commem can be easily found in VF-EF conditions for $30-50 and you can get an MS-64 example for around $100.

I have a certified Stone mountain graded by PCGS as a MS64 and I think I paid right at $60 about 3 years ago for it and it's one of my favorites.

I'm new to the forum and wanted to try posting pictures
