Sealed mint bags of what? cents, nickels, dimes, quarters or half dollars? I would think any of them would be pretty scarce to find in sealed mint bags!

They are pennies 5000 each bag from oklhoma city branch of the kansas federal reserve. They were shipped to enid bank where my granfather aquired them. The postage date is 1960 the are tied and have a lead fastener on them and never been opened.

I think that would be impossible to find out without opening the bag but will add to the allure of a sale

My dad has three bags like that .. 2 quarters and one dime ... not sure of the years .. but they are silver. I have always hope to get them some day. I don't know what you will do .. but for me .. I would have to open them .. well maybe not for coppers cents .. but then maybe there would be some interesting toned coins .. bags can cause toning. I have a 50 roll box of 2009 LMC2 .. that I have not opened ..

I guess I should ask .. what are you going to do with the bag .. ?

Tied with a lead seal? Then they may just be mixed bags of cents. Mint bags are usually sewn shut.

I think I would prefer a mixed bag myself if it were sealed with the lead in 1960.
That would be a real cool time capsule. Maybe some key dates could be inside.
I think it would get me collecting wheaties as I bet half of the coins would be wheat cents.

Didn't they use lead seals on mint bags in the old days?
