is it slabbed, cause it could be a fake, I'm only saying that because I bought a Trade dollar that in the picture it looked real but when I received it I found out it was a fake.

If it's a fake, it's a good one. From what I can see it looks to be real. What's supprising is that I would expect to see the bidding a lot higher than $910. In this condition this coin should fetch between $4000-$4500.

This is offered by Great Southern Coins....They Do Not sell fakes. They are only 40 miles from me,and they are very trustworthy.I would not ever question a coin from them. This coin is not certified, but I would submit it to a TPG be slabbed soon after I got it.Got sniped on a 1799 last nite, won't let it happen this time..... Looks real to me, but there is a significant hit on Miss Liberty's breast and the color does not look natural. I think this would slab at, say, ANACS as "damaged, cleaned" and should be valued accordingly. It's at just over $1000 now and will probably go for a few hundred dollars more. I would not expect it to break the $2000 mark, but you never know....
It is the slightly scarcer "AMERICAI" variety, with the die break (or is it a gouge?) that resembles an extra I after AMERICA on the reverse. Even with the defects it would be worth having it slabbed to ensure authenticity.

If they are only 40 miles from you, I would invest a few hours and drive over and look at the coin. Call them in advance and make sure they will have it available for you. Bust dollars are great coins but pictures can give a false view of the coin. This one is a B-11 and has an R-4 or R-5 rating depending upon who you talk to. This is not the common B-19 version of the Americai variety. However the coin has some funny looks to it so I would want to see it in person to see if the surfaces have been played with. This coin is rare enough that I would be wary of why the seller doesn't have it in a TPG slab.

I agree that GSC is indeed trustworthy. I will say that they are also trustworthy to take the best possible pictures.
Nothing shady, but have your eyes open that they don't play with the market in regards to loyalty or reputation to sell a coin. They take the time to present the best foot forward....I would bet money it is authentic, I would however also bet that this is the best that coin will ever look.
Great company and good service. Just make sure your eyes are open.

I agree with Jaobler that this coin is harshly cleaned and damaged. What going on at 9:00 and moving to the middle of the reverse?
The details are close to EF as noted but the value is VG to me. Price wise it's where it should be right now (just over $1K) because that's all it's really worth.
I'd pass..........

I agree that GSC is trustworthy as far as authenticity goes. They do not sell fakes. HOWEVER, they often overgrade there coins and sell problem coins without disclosing the problem. In cointalk, a member recently purchased a 21-d walker that they graded F-12. PCGS gave it a G-6, and they often give key dates a bump. I also have purchased a seated half that was harshly cleaned(undisclosed). With all that said, I would still bid on there auctions(they have a lot of nice coins), but it's important to take into account the possiblity of a problem or overgraded coin when considering your bid. just imho.
