This one is getting out of the range of a good deal for me, without know if it was really the right nickel.

I E mailed this seller and ask if was a complete mint set. They mailed back saying it has the COA. I neither asked or was told if this was the right nickel, I guess I am saying it looks a little bright in the pic to be the matte finish nickel. It is the nickel that makes this set have value. Has anyone seen or have one of these nickels and have any thoughts if this is one or not.

I am not sure I understand your question. The 1994P matte finish nickel did not come from a Mint Set, it was only available in the special commemorative set listed in the auction. The only way that coin would not be a matte nickel is if someone switched it and it appears to have sealed packaging. I am not sure why you say the nickel looks "bright", I see it as being darker than the Jefferson commem

I was thinking the nickel although darker to me was appearing to have a shine. But maybe not, and not having seen this coin or set I am not really sure how it should look. Does the matte finish have some shine or is it a dull look?
I would not want to accuse someone of switching out this coin, not even sure if it could be switched without tearing up the packaging. It is that have heard so much to be careful of what you buy on ebay, makes me cautious and just wanted to be sure there could be no problem bidding on one of these sets.

I collect Commemorative, Proof and Mint sets, this set and the 1997 botanical set, that I know of, are the only way these 2-coins, for both years, could be obtained. This set was stolen from the seller, great deal, appears all original, sweet nickel alone value around $75, in MS 65 or better...... PS, I would say to your question, it is the real deal! Mike

I should have put a bid on it. I have been reading more and looking at pics, so now I now I want one. I have been buying a lot of commemorative coins lately. I started out wanting the Jefferson UNC dollar .. now I want the nickel too. And if I found a good buy .. the 1997 too.
