I promised myself I would get to organizing over the holidays with the kids off for a week or two. I wanted to get the Jefferson collection straightened out.
I get backed up from time to time, I scratch my head and wonder. Why do I need another Jefferson?

The base is my complete set. I lay the pages out and put my duplicates on the top. Then I see page by page what might be a better coin than the one in my set.
This time, I am going to keep only the best and let go of the rest. I have a lot of beautiful extras that will be heading out but I am going to continue to hoard my top end. I have one of every nickel in high grade UNC or Gem Proof. 1938 to date except the business strike 2009 D. I think 90% of these are full step that are in my set and I have many full step extras. I am going to open up slots for the 1939 P D and S type 1 and 2 reverses but I might have them already.
There is also a nice collection of the RPM and doubled dies in here but some are not BU of course. Not yet anyway.

The high stacks are the better dates or tougher issues to find well struck with full steps.

You are letting them go here first I hope! I told myself that I was gonna get organized too Wheezy. Looks like you got a lot farther along than I did, I managed to get 23 coin into 2x2's and my desk looks as if a tornado just passed and to top it all off I have nothing to do at all today so off to the auctions I go. Oh well, maybe I'll get too it tomorrow.
Rest in Peace

I will try selling some here first. Maybe starting in February or March. I did find some in rolls and got some in change along the milk route many years ago. Most of these I cherry picked or just bought outright.
The image just shows my workspace. Now I have a few hundred to get in hard flips and label and get them on the pile. Then I will line them up in order in 2x2 boxes front to back and start upgrading each page one page at at time.

B. Wagner, that is a great place to start. I hope he joins CCF. The series has so much going for it.

Very nice! Do you have any pics posted of the individual higher end stuff? I'd certainly like to see some of the full step stuff from the 30s & 40s.

Wheezy, that is an AMAZING collection! Do you happen to have pics of your War Nickels? War Nickels are one of my faves, and I love to see nice, high grade ones! I'd love to check yours out, and any other coins you want to share. :)

I wish I did have some nice pictures but I have very few. I know I've seen some nice ones right here in the CCF image galleries. Metalman had some delicious nickels last time I looked.
http://www.coincommunity.org/gallery/search.php Be signed in and type Jefferson in here. Irishraider has some purty ones too!
There is a different sign in for the image gallery.
My images will be the last thing I get together I think.
