I had a group of about 10 dateless Buffalos I decided to soak in vinegar just to see if I could raise dates on them. Most gave me faint, very hard to read dates but one gave me a nice clear although faint date,a 1914 S. What do you folks think would be a fair price to ask at a fleamarket or similar kind of sales venue? There is not a lot of detail on the coin but since it is a rare one could I reasonably expect someone to pay $5? More? Less? Give me your thoughts!

Greysheet Bid on a 1914-S in Good is $19.50. I'd like to see a pic of yours but $10 sounds reasonable if the date is readable and it's not damaged.

Um, soaking in vinegar is considered damage. With a dateless it is not really avoidable, but $10 might be a bit optimistic.

I've heard it's closer to 20% than 50%. But I've never tried to sell a restored date Buffalo. Somebody here on the forum sells alot of them on ebay. I think it's WeerdSteve, Maybe he'll chime in.
